About the Author

Originally from west-central Indiana, Adrian College Professor of Music Pete Ford has taught college music theory courses for many years in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan.  From this experience he has distilled many musical concepts down to a practical compendium of what 4-year college students need to know in their first two years of music theory instruction.  Professor Ford’s musical background includes composition of commercial jingles, and he freelances in rock bands and as a jazz pianist.  He has composed for choir, for string quartet, and also for solo piano.  Ford’s musical publications include “Ulterior Motives” for saxophone quartet (Ludwig Masters) and “Four Pieces from Two Millennia for Piano” (Musical Resources).
